Judy Anderson works with a variety of materials 和 processes to create organic abstract images that are combined to form one-of-a-kind sculptural books. The focus is always on process—to produce a large body of work responding to a particular idea without being limited by set expectations of the finished product.

Treating books as an art form is a natural expression for Judy because of her love of paper, 纸质表格, 单词, 墨水, 图像和叙事. The first book she made was in the mid-70s 和 it opened a world of possibilities leading into an open-ended lifelong exploration of layered storytelling. She embraces collaboration 和 has worked closely with poets, sculptors, printmakers 和 bookbinders. Her professional life has always been deeply rooted in guiding 和 encouraging younger artists. She was a Professor of Design for three decades at universities in California, 科罗拉多和华盛顿. In 2016 she received the Denver Art Museum Gold Key Award given to an exemplary artist who has made significant contributions to contemporary art in Colorado. She is the founding director of PlatteForum in 2002, an award-winning arts 和 youth serving organization. Her artist books are in collections around the world including the Museum of Modern Art, 大都会艺术博物馆, 维多利亚和阿尔伯特博物馆, 盖蒂研究所, Frankfurt Book Fair Archival Collection 和 universities throughout the country.
